Our desk is in New York, but our shows travel. We've produced customer events, activations, media studios and video in Toronto, Montreal, London, São Paulo and Singapore, run on site by the producers who planned them.

If your program crosses a border, the plan, the people and the standard come with it.

producing abroad

What changes when a show crosses a border.

Power and video standards differ outside the U.S., so we plan what ships, what we rent locally and what needs converting before anything is packed.

Gear that crosses a border needs paperwork and lead time, often an ATA carnet and customs clearance. We build both into the schedule, and rent locally when it costs less.

Live streams, remote speakers and rehearsals get scheduled for every audience's time zone, not just the one in the venue. In Montreal and São Paulo we plan for language, from signage to on-site crew briefings.

We work with trusted local crews and vendors on the ground and brief them the same way we brief crews at home.

site visits

We see the venue before we plan the show.

Abroad, a site visit or a detailed virtual walkthrough with the local team comes before any gear is shipped. We confirm power, access and local rules in person wherever we can.

  • Walk the venue. Power, rigging points, sightlines, load-in path and where the crew can actually stage.
  • Meet the house team. In-house AV, the event manager and the engineer, before anyone signs.
  • Read the fine print. Labor rules, exclusives and fees go into the plan and the budget up front.

green light review · a free consultation with a producer

Engaging Big AV? Get a free review before you sign.

Big AV quotes are written by the company that sells the gear, the labor and the add-ons. We don't own a warehouse or rent equipment, so our only interest is the right show at a fair price. Send the plan or quote for your international show, or just get on a call. A producer takes a look and tells you honestly whether we can do it better. If we don't think so, we'll say that too.

International production questions.

Do you produce events outside the U.S.?

Yes. We've produced programs in Toronto, Montreal, London, São Paulo and Singapore, from customer events and activations to a media studio and video shoots. See where we produce. Touring the same program through several countries? See how we run multi-country roadshows.

Do you ship gear or rent locally?

Whichever serves the show and the budget. We price both. Shipping usually means an ATA carnet and customs lead time; local rental avoids both but needs careful specs.

Can you work on behalf of an agency abroad?

Yes. In São Paulo we managed a media studio on behalf of an agency. We're comfortable working under your brand and alongside your team.

How do travel costs work?

Everything, travel included, is scoped and priced before you approve the budget. We don't mark up travel. It's billed at cost, plus the necessary per diem. See where we produce. Same show, several markets? See our roadshow production.
